Tron Wilder graduated from Southern Adventist University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology prior to earning his EdS in School Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He completed his PhD in Psychology from Tennessee State University in 2012.
Tron is passionate about reaching students with a variety of learning styles. Prior to becoming a full time member of the faculty at Southern, he served in several public school districts in Tennessee and Georgia as a school psychologist. His work as a school psychologist focused on assessing students with emotional, behavioral, and learning difficulties and working with teachers and parents to develop plans to assist students who were having difficulties.
Tron lives in a historic neighborhood in downtown Chattanooga with his wife, Kristie, who is the dean of the School of Social Work. Together they enjoy spending time with their one-year-old son, Ace. Tron is invested in his downtown community by being an active member of his neighborhood association and leading a small group through his church that focuses on connecting with others in the downtown area through service projects. Tron also enjoys spending time in outdoor recreation and welcomes any and all challengers to a round of disc golf on Southern’s course!
