Abstract

With the growing number of aggressive acts in schools and in society as a whole, it is important in understanding the source of aggressive behaviors. The purpose of this study was to examine several variables and how they relate to several different categories of aggression. Thirty-four students from Southern Adventist University completed the Biano Parental Authority Questionnaire, which measures basic demographic questions, perceptions on their parents parenting styles, and their perceptions on their current aggression level. Overall, the results showed very weak relationships between the variables. However, some of the results showed higher levels of aggression in the African American ethnic group compared to the rest of the ethnicities. On the whole, however these inconclusive findings call for more research.
