Health and Safety Awareness

Health and Safety Awareness Statement

As a member of the National Association of Schools of Music, Southern supports NASM’s commitment to the promotion of health and wellness for music students and staff.  Accordingly, the School of Music will provide basic information about the maintenance of health and safety within the contexts of practice, performance, teaching, and listening.  Students and staff are encouraged to seek preventive measures that can be taken to avoid serious and/or chronic conditions.

Furthermore, the School of Music works within the context of the institution’s commitment to health and wellness as one of the student learning goals, i.e. students will “take responsibility for their own well-being through a health-promoting lifestyle.”
