An adjunct instructor at Southern since 1987, Mark Reneau is also violin instructor at the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts. He has taught at the Cadek Conservatory of Music, Chattanooga State Technical Community College, Lee University, and Covenant College. In addition, Mr. Reneau maintains a thriving private studio.
He is Concertmaster of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, section violinist with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, and extra violin with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Mr. Reneau plays each summer in the Bellingham Festival Orchestra. From 2000-2009, he played with the Nashville Chamber Orchestra, serving as Assistant Concertmaster from 2007-2009.
Mr. Reneau has Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in violin performance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a member of the American String Teachers Association, and the American Federation of Musicians, Locals 80 & 257.
