2017 Concerto Competition

The Southern Adventist University Concerto Competition was established in 1990 to feature gifted young musicians in performance with a full orchestra.  Winners will perform with the Southern Adventist University Symphony Orchestra in concert on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. in the Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists.

2017 Honors Instrumental Festival 

The School of Music will host the biennial Honor Instrumental Festival February 15-18, 2017, featuring band and string orchestra students from throughout the Southeast. The festival will conclude with a concert on February 18 at 4 p.m. in the Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists.

The Honors Symphonic Band clinician will be acclaimed composer, conductor and educator Dr. Andrew Boysen, Jr., from the University of New Hampshire.

The Honors String Orchestra clinician will be Dawn Harms, adjunct professor of violin at Stanford University, Associate Concertmaster of the New Century Chamber Orchestra, and violinist with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra..

Honors Symphonic Band Auditions
