Dr. Henry Kuhlman

Dr. Kuhlman completed his BA in physics at Andrews University. He received his master’s degree at Western Michigan University and went on to Purdue University to earn his PhD in Low Energy Nuclear Physics.

Since 1968, Dr. Kuhlman has been a part of the Physics and Engineering faculty. He devotes a great deal of time to the mechanical and electrical aspects of Hickman Science Center and of the Foucault pendulum. He designed the beautiful sundial that graces the campus mall facing University Drive.

Dr. Kuhlman's teaching schedule usually includes Astronomy, General Physics, two or three General Physics Laboratories, Intro to Engineering, and the Statics-Dynamics sequence.

The Kuhlman children are all involved in the professional world. His son, Steven Kuhlman, is also a faculty member of the Physics and Engineering Department at Southern.
