Five of our students are graduating in May with a bachelor's degree in physics. All of their hard work has finally paid off, and the Physics Department would like to congratulate and support them as they face new challenges. Here are some of the plans our graduates have for the future:
Plans: Start medical school at Loma Linda University. Later, she plans to specialize in either plastic or cardio surgery.
Danessa has been working toward her biophysics degree since 2011. She is currently the president of the physics club, and she has always been very involved in the department’s activities. On April 5 she was awarded a Senior Academic Excellence Award in recognition of her outstanding journey at Southern. Danessa was accepted at Loma Linda Medical School and will begin in August 2015. Her current goal is to become either a plastic or a cardio surgeon. During the summer she will spend two weeks in Guyana, South America, working as a medical missionary with a team from Southern. Then she plans to go back home to Nashville, Tennessee, and look for a job until classes start for her in August. Danessa has been a great asset to the department and we are very proud of all her achievements. She has excelled in everything she has done, and we are excited to see where God is leading her.
