Scarab
The cartouche on this scarab bears the throne name of Thutmose IV (1400-1390 B.C.), Menkheprure, the eighth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty. During his short and relatively peaceful reign he built an obelisk in Thebes that now stands in front of the Lateran church in Rome. Thutmose IV also had a preference for the sun-god Aton, who was later predominantly featured in the religion reforms of his grandson, Akhenaton.
