Meet the Staff
Welcome to our Campus Ministries Team. Our vision is Jesus: obsessively, dangerously, undeniably Jesus! It is our privilege to serve you! We invite you to come and join one of the many ministries available, and to grow in Jesus.
Ever since graduating from Southern back in the day, it has been my dream to come back to this campus to serve as Chaplain---and for the past 10 plus years, I’ve been living the dream. My family is unquestionably the joy of my life! As an avid Miami Dolphin fan, I love Sunday afternoons from September through February (hope springs eternal). Early morning basketball, football, piano, violin, guitar, and hanging out with students--these are just a few of my favorite things. And let us not forget about the fine art of chowing down @ Thai Smile and Lupi's Pizza. As Chaplain, I have the privilege of working with a fantastic ministry team whose entire purpose for existence is to serve you! Welcome to Southern!
— Brennon Kirstein - Chaplain
I am extremely passionate about ministry because of the opportunity to journey alongside people as they discover an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. In my years of pastoral ministry, my greatest joy has been to empower young adults as authentic and courageous disciples and as active leaders within the Seventh-day Adventist church. Day to day, my greatest joy is listening to student’s stories and teaching what it means to be in a real, intimate relationship with Jesus. Along with the exciting challenges within ministry, I love exploring local adventures, reading, and spending time with friends and family. I’m married to the love of my life Euwayne Bennett, and together we have three furry feline friends – Zee, Marble, and Harvey. One of the things we are most passionate about is crafting intentional worship experiences and leading out in praise and worship as a team. I hope you’ll take a moment to stop by my office and share your story and your passions with me!
— Anna Bennett - Associate Chaplain
I have dedicated my life to ministry because of my passion for discipleship and understanding that "life change happens on a relational level". As i have seen my ministry begin to expand, i have begun to focus my energies on the areas of my greatest skills which are innovation, discipleship and mentoring. I am a Chaplain, because there have always been people on the journey of life who have come along side of me and helped me become the man that i am today. As an ESFJ-A caring for and serving others are ways that i find deep satisfaction in life. Outside of work i often spend my free time with friends and family, working out and barbering. My favorite places to eat are Dosa Hut, Aji Peruvian, and Rafaels. I hope to spend this year creating intentional relationships with students, and ministry opportunities for those who want to serve. Stop by my office and lets connect sometime about Jesus.
— Marc-Anthony Pierre - Assistant Chaplain
My home is North Carolina, my food is Mac n’ Cheese, and my goal is joy. The journey of falling in love with Jesus has been the greatest adventure of my life. Recently that journey led me to the Student Missions program at Southern where I currently facilitate opportunities for students to experience their own journey with Christ around the world. I went out as a Student Missionary to India, and know firsthand the incredible impact that missions can have on a person's life. If you'd ever let to talk about missions, the Tennessee Titans, or multiplication tables, swing by my office - I would love to hear your story.
— Christian Bunch - Student Missions Coordinator
Jesus has called all of us to serve as His hands and feet around the world. I love
helping students identify their passions and how God has called each of us to use
our skills in missions. It’s exciting to see how students have a clarified sense of
God’s calling in their lives!
I am proud to have graduated from Southern in 2009 with my bachelors degree in nonprofit administration and in 2013 with my masters in business. I met my husband here at Southern and we now live in the area with a dog and a cat. In my free time I enjoy singing, playing sports, and crocheting.
