A native of Southern California, Lorraine Ball joined the faculty at Southern Adventist
University’s School of Journalism and Communication as an assistant professor in 2001.
Mrs. Ball has served in higher education in a number of areas including public relations,
development, and admissions and recruiting. Prior to coming to Southern, she was director
of Career Services at Atlantic Union College.
Mrs. Ball holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from Atlantic Union College, S. Lancaster, Mass., and a master’s degree in professional communication from Clark University in Worcester, Mass. She teaches introductory speech and journalism classes and has academic interests in interpersonal and intercultural communication, rhetoric, and organizational leadership and dynamics.
Hobbies and interests include reading, gardening, travel and cross-stitch. She and her husband, Scott, have two grown children, Jonathan and Jessica.
