Mrs. Elizabeth Snyder was born in India while her parents were missionaries there.
When she was nine her family moved to Berrien Springs, Michigan. She enjoyed the snowy
winters and fruit-filled summers there until she graduated from Andrews University
with a BS degree in dietetics. She worked as a food service supervisor and consulting
dietitian for a year in Pullman, WA before going on for a master’s degree at Washington
After graduating, she worked with the local Adventist church to start and run a vegetarian deli/outreach center on the WSU campus. When her husband finished his Ph.D. in biology they moved to Java to teach at Universitas Advent Indonesia (a beautiful place to live). Nine years later they moved to Southern to continue working with young adults—which is something they both love.
The Snyders have three children—two grown daughters and a son in academy. They all enjoy hiking, camping, backpacking, and having groups of students at their home.
