School of Nursing
LaShawn Horton graduated from Southern College, now Southern Adventist University,
in 1990 with an AS Degree in nursing. She completed her BS degree from the Medical
College of Georgia in 2003, and then went on to complete her MSN at California State
University, Sacramento in 2010. She is currently a PhD student at Oregon Health &
Mrs. Horton is joining Southern Adventist University from Loma Linda University as an Assistant Professor. She will be teaching the Childbearing Family course in the undergraduate program. Mrs. Horton’s nursing experience includes: cardiac telemetry, float pool, home health, school nursing, and over 20 years in OB nursing. She holds a credential in school nursing and she is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.
She has been married to Reginald Horton, also a Southern graduate, for 23 years and they have two teenage children.
She enjoys ministering to others with her husband, traveling, meeting new people, reading, eating good food, and spending time with her family.
