Public Services Librarian
Welcome to Southern! I’m happy to be your advisor! I enjoy helping people find, evaluate,
and use information. I am interested in a wide variety of subjects and look forward
to talking with you about anything and everything that is important to you.
I grew up in Colorado, then moved to Tennessee to attend Southern in 1994. After graduating in 2000 with a degree in English, I married my beloved husband Bobby and settled in Bradley County. I taught in area middle and high schools before receiving my master's of education degree in educational media and educational technology from East Tennessee State University and becoming the head librarian at Michigan Avenue School in Cleveland, Tennessee. After five years in this capacity, I joined the McKee Library team of Southern Adventist University where I am now Head of Public Services and Associate Director. In this role, I am responsible for guiding library users in their pursuit of research, providing individual and group instruction, giving workshops and tours, and overseeing the public services work of the library.
I enjoy water sports, mountain and road biking, gymnastics, hiking, trail running, and spending time with my family. My dreams include completing a Tour Divide, a trail marathon, and a Ph.D. What are your dreams? I’m looking forward to helping you achieve them!
