School of Business
Luceta McRoy joined the School of Business at Southern Adventist University as an associate professor in the Fall of 2015. Prior to coming to Southern, she worked as a Health Services Research Associate at Morehouse School of Medicine. Dr. McRoy has been a college professor for more than a decade and has worked as a business professor at Oakwood University and in various institutions as an adjunct faculty. In addition, she has served as a director of an educational company and a Bank Examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Dr. McRoy earned a BA in Communications from the University of Hartford, an M.BA from Kent State University and a Ph.D. in Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is accomplished in the area of academic research. Her research is at the intersection of healthcare and marketing. She is particularly interested in health disparities and health outcomes and has written several peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Asthma, Cancer, American Journal of Managed Care, Journal of Men’s Health, Immigrant and Minority Health and Health Marketing Quarterly.
Dr. McRoy is married to Pastor Carl McRoy, an ordained minister and together they are blessed with two beautiful and talented children. Dr. McRoy’s favorite text is Jeremiah 32:17 “Oh, Lord God! You Yourself made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and with Your outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for You!"
