LAURA RACOVITA

School of Social Work

Laura Racovita currently serves as associate professor in the School of Social Work. She joined the Southern Adventist Faculty in the summer of 2013. Previously, she was the Director of Field Education and assistant professor of social work at Andrews University, in Berrien Springs, MI.

Professor Racovita received her Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Studies as well as her Master’s degree in Social Work in 2005 from Andrews University, and her PhD in Public Service Leadership with a specialization in Nonprofit Management from Capella University in 2015. She is part of the MSW Leadership Team and is teaching primarily graduate courses in the School of Social Work. Some of her teaching and research areas of interest include: non-profit management, program development, social work ethics, trauma and crisis intervention, emergency response, and cultural competency.
