Corneliu Rusu was born in Romania and moved to the United States in 1999. His graduate studies include a Master of Arts in Religion from Newbold College, a Master of Social Work from Andrews University and a Master of Arts in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where he is currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program in community psychology.
Mr. Rusu started and developed a community project in New Jersey for nine years and then in 2009 he joined the faculty team at Southern Adventist University where he is currently teaching in the School of Social Work. His research interests include family, social justice, depth psychology, intentional communities and spirituality.
At the personal level, Mr. Rusu is a city person who greatly loves nature and outdoor activities. He is married to Carmen Rusu and has been blessed with two children, Ioana and Teofil. In his free time Mr. Rusu may be found in the gym, biking outdoors, or oil painting. He loves jazz and likes to mingle with people in cafés, bookstores and at artistic events.
