Dr. Samaan has been with the School of Religion since 1998. Prior to this he served as chief editor of the Adult Sabbath School Lessons at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, and as a professor, both in the Religion Department and the Theological Seminary at Andrews University. While at the Theological Seminary he served also as director of the North American Division Youth Resource Center, and the Center for Continuing Education for Ministry. He also directed the Seminary’s MA in Pastoral Ministry and the Doctor of Ministry programs.
Earlier, Elder Samaan served as director of Sabbath School and Personal Ministries for the Africa-Indian Ocean Division, and director of Youth Outreach and Campus Ministries for the North Pacific Union in North America. He also pastored and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1979.
His aim is to build up his students’ faith in God, in the Scriptures and the Advent message and mission. His passion is to help his students emulate Christ’s life and ministry in all that they do.
