Mr. Dale Walters, chair of Southern Adventist University’s Department of Technology, graduated in 1981 (cum laude) from Southern Missionary College (now Southern Adventist University) with an industrial education major. He was listed in the National Who’s Who in Colleges for 1981. He received an MS degree in technology from East Tennessee State University in 1986.
In 1996 he received his triple Master ASE certification in 18 ASE specialties. As a special recognition of this honor, his name was inscribed in the honor book displayed in the Automotive Hall of Fame in Detroit, Michigan.
Mr. Walters has taught at Cedar Lake Academy/Great Lakes Adventist Academy.
His special interests are "automobiles in any form" and he especially enjoys antiques. Mr. Walters takes great interest in the new developments in computers and electronics in the automotive field. He enjoys history, reading, gardening and woodworking.
From 1974 to 1978 he was involved as a student missionary in the Nicaragua mission project. Since 1997 he has been involved in helping to restart the mission project in Nicaragua. He serves on the mission board as the head of the construction projects.
Mr. Walters is married to Lezlee (Caine) Walters, also a Southern Missionary College graduate (1981) and has two children, Christopher and Diana.
