Meet the Team

Hello. My name is Elisabeth Anderson, but my friends call me Lis. I am the Designated School Official (DSO) and manager for the Enrollment Management Call Center. I have the privilege of serving over 200 international students throughout their entire educational journey at Southern. I also have the unique pleasure of working with several current SAU students in the Call Center every day. My husband and I are both proud SAU alumni and as a result, chose to make Chattanooga home. I am a very proud mom of a cheerful and active boy who can occasionally be found on campus. My fellow Call Center employees will be the first to tell you that I have a strong love for hot beverages. You can usually find more than one tea cup or travel mug on my desk, and I have been known to bring my French press to work a time or two. I enjoy exploring new places, meeting new people, and trying new foods (especially new coffees or teas). I never leave my house without a book. I can’t wait to see you here at Southern!

Hey there! My name is Shana Michalek, and I’m privileged to be one of the Admission Counselors working alongside our awesome Enrollment team here at Southern! I help students from Kentucky, Tennessee, the Columbia Union, and the North Pacific Union navigate the college admissions process as smoothly as possible. I love being able to travel for my job and meet so many fantastic students. When I’m not working, you might find me binging on Star Wars, hiking in the mountains, picking up a good book to read, or chilling with my pup.

Hello! My name is Shaina Rantung, and I am the Admissions Social Media Marketing Intern. I am super embarrassed to admit this, but you’ll often find me hunched over my phone or my laptop. BUT, you can bribe me away from them if food or Disney channel is involved. I am so madly passionate about New York City. From the street food (Halal Guys ftw) to Broadway shows (I’ve been to three!), this city lives in my heart. I am graduating in December with a B.S. in Public Relations and minors in Marketing and Religion. Hope you enjoy these blog posts!

Hey guys! My name is Stephen Smith, I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and I am honored to be one of the Admissions Counselors for Southern! When you can wake up every morning and can't wait to be at work, it truly is a blessing. I love traveling all over the Unites States making sure that all my territories are well-taken care of. When I'm not plane-hopping, I usually spend all of my time with my friends! We go out to eat A LOT, and we love trying out new places. (I am a big time foodie.) I am also a DIE HARD Philadelphia Eagles fan, and sports fan in general. My favorite sports include soccer, football, basketball, and formula one racing. Yes, I do have a favorite team for all of those sports, but I just thought it would be too long to include in this post. If you are interested, send me an email, and we can chat! Oh wait, I almost forgot I also have a dog named Peppa. (Yes, it is named after the kid show Peppa Pig. My girlfriend's little sister named her). She is a husky-lab mix filled with energy that loves the water and going swimming. I look forward to seeing you guys be a part of Southern!
