Story Abstract

Campus visit and time with professors are key to shaping important decision.

Story

PreviewSouthern is a great way for prospective students and their families to experience Southern for themselves. Those who are interested in Southern can register for these campus visits, and enjoy meals and hotel accommodations all prepared by the university.

When visiting, students and their guests receive a campus tour, meet with professors and advisors in their field of interest, attend a helpful financial aid presentation, and participate in an activity in Chattanooga. These activities range from visiting the Tennessee Aquarium to hiking in Ruby Falls.

Visitors also have the chance to win Southern scholarships during a raffle on the final day. Additional prizes include hoodies, mugs, beanies, and more from the Campus Shop.

“We want to give students the experience of what Southern life is like,” said Eden Koliadko, Enrollment Services guest coordinator.

Also, for students interested in music scholarships, auditions are held during the February and April PreviewSouthern dates.

“Visiting campus and talking with professors helped me visualize myself here,” said Melissa Rodas, freshman missions and social work major who attended PreviewSouthern last year.

The upcoming PreviewSouthern dates are April 12-13 and June 7-8. You must register at least two days before the scheduled date to be able to participate. Enrollment Services will handle all registrations and will set up the accommodations.
