Chemistry
The study of chemistry is centered on the observation of matter and energy and how they interact. Through scientific observation and testing, chemistry majors broaden our understanding of the world around us and discover new applications for the building blocks of the universe.
What can I do with a chemistry degree?
The BA is a science degree with a non-science minor and more general education classes than are required by the BS degree. The BA can also include secondary-school teacher certification.
Should I pursue a BS in chemistry?
With a BS in chemistry, you can pursue graduate study leading to research in the basic
sciences; careers in biotechnology and biochemistry; or employment in industry or
government.
The biomedical emphasis is strong preparation for medical, dental, and other medically
based graduate programs.
