Carol Raney joined the School of Education and Psychology in 2017 after teaching as an adjunct instructor for two years. Born in the northeast, Carol Raney attended Southern College of Seventh-day Adventists before completing her bachelor’s degree from Atlantic Union College. She completed the M.S.Ed at Southern Adventist University in 2016.
Mrs. Raney has served in Adventist education for over 25 years, enjoying her students from Maplewood Academy in MN; Pine Tree Academy in ME; Union Springs Academy in NY; Frontenac Elementary in NY; A. W. Spalding in Collegedale, TN; and Southern Adventist University.
Prior to joining the School of Education and Psychology, Mrs. Raney served as Origins Educator at Southern Adventist University for five years, creating over 60 resources about creation and evolution for teachers and other interested people. During this time, she contributed to the ByDesign science textbooks as a freelance writer and created a number of online continuing educationcourses for the Adventist Learning Community. She has a special interest in teaching science from a biblical perspective.
She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and cooking for hungry college students.
