Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center, formally known as Learning Support Services (LSS), is located on the third floor of the Mckee Library. The Tutoring Center includes the programs Peer Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction (SI) 

Mission Statement

The mission of the Tutoring Center is to assist students in developing the knowledge base, skills, and strategies that will help them to become confident, independent, and active learners.  

 

Hours of operation (Summer)

Monday-Thursday: 9 am to 6 pm

Friday: 9 am to 12 pm

 

 

PEER TUTORING: 

Tutoring services offers FREE peer tutoring sessions for 

57 lower division courses and 21 upper division courses. 

Tutoring sessions are:

  • Provided by students that have excelled in the course        
  • 50 minutes long
  • Usually one-on-one or in a small group  
  • Held on campus in convenient locations 
  • Available for many courses as well as the ACT
     tutors

SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION (SI): 

SI offers FREE peer assisted study sessions for historically

difficult classes such as General Chemistry,General Biology,

General Physics, A&P, and Statistics. 

SI Sessions are: 

  • Provided by students that have previously taken the course
  • SI Leaders have completed the course with a B+ or higher 
  • Held 2-3x a week, 50 minutes long
  • In a small group made up of fellow classmates
  • Held on campus in convenient locations
