Biography

David Peyton, cellist, serves as Adjunct Instructor of Cello at Southern Adventist University. He performs regularly with the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, Chattanooga Bach Choir, and Piedmont Camerata. Peyton holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music as well as a Master of Music degree from the University of Georgia’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music, both in cello performance. His primary teachers were Wesley Baldwin, Helga Winold, David Starkweather, along with his beloved first teacher, Phyllis Steen of the Knoxville Symphony. In addition to playing and listening to music, he enjoys riding bicycles around the trails and roads of Northwest Georgia.
