2015 Graduates

Five of our students are graduating in May with a bachelor's degree in physics. All of their hard work has finally paid off, and the Physics Department would like to congratulate and support them as they face new challenges. Here are some of the plans our graduates have for the future:

Nikki Ross

Plans: Start a PhD in physics, with an emphasis on acoustics or optics.

Nikki started her college journey in 2011. She has worked as a tutor and as a teaching assistant for Exploring Physics throughout the past four years. Nikki plans to pursue a PhD in physics after she graduates. She has been accepted by three schools: Eastern Michigan University, East Carolina University, and Bowling Green State University (Ohio); however, she hasn’t made her final decision yet. Her interests are in the area of acoustics and optics. She very much enjoys hands-on research and plans to pass on her expertise later through this type of research. This summer, after visiting her family in the Philippines, Nikki will likely work with Josh Barrow to complete the work he has been doing under Professor Emeritus Ray Hefferlin on the periodicity of triatomic molecules. Nikki’s positive attitude and help in the department will be missed, but we look forward to see where her talents take her.
