Academic Summer Camps 2025
Every summer, high school students get an opportunity to explore multiple academic
interests and get a small taste of collegiate life. A diverse group of topics are
ready to be taught, including baking bread from scratch, ethical computer hacking,
directing and producing a film, and expertly suturing a wound!
This is just a taste of what you can learn at one of our academic summer camps. Join
students from all over the states to learn a new skill, make friends, and get a feel
for college life.
Our 2025 camps are open to those who will be in grades 9-12 in the upcoming fall.

Unlocking the Power of AI: A Hands-On Experience
Engineering
Engineering Design
Description: In this camp, participants will explore the fundamentals of 3D computer-aided
design (CAD) using Fusion 360. Students will design, 3D print, and race a prototype
vehicle, gaining hands-on experience in engineering and design. This camp is designed
for those looking for an introduction to CAD software and the principles of engineering
design.

Outdoor Leadership
Are you passionate about the great outdoors and interested in a career that combines adventure with helping others? The Outdoor Leadership Academic Summer Camp is designed for young people who want to explore the exciting world of outdoor recreation, while learning how to use their skills to impact lives and serve others.
Throughout the camp, you'll have the opportunity to challenge yourself with exciting activities like our high ropes challenge course, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and caving—all while learning how these adventures can be used to promote health, wellness, and ministry.
Our goal is to equip you with the leadership skills, outdoor knowledge, and spiritual insights to pursue a career in the outdoor industry with a heart for service. Whether you're interested in Adventure Therapy, Outdoor Ministry, Experiential Education, or Outdoor Recreation, you'll get a taste of the many programs offered at Southern University that can prepare you for a fulfilling career in outdoor leadership or emergency services.
