Student Life and Activities
From science students in Hickman Science Center to art majors in Brock Hall, and everyone in between, Southern's schools and departments have professional and academic clubs that can help you get a foot in the door. Network with area professionals, meet other students on your academic track and even get involved with organizations in the community.
If you're looking for something a little more adventurous, clubs like Kayaking, Southern Striders and P.E. Sports Studies will all get you rafting, running, and more. But you don't have to join these clubs to join in on the fun. The Southern Outdoor Adventure Program (SOAP) hosts a number of events throughout the year for all levels of experience.
For those of you wanting to celebrate your heritage, the Asian Club, Latin American Club (LAC), and the Black Christian Union (BCU) offer great ways to make connections. Get involved with other students and celebrate the diversity that makes Southern unique. Each of these clubs hosts a cultural night to showcase food, music, history, and traditions.
Whatever activities you choose to get involved in will help make your college experience unforgettable. If you would like to add to the list of activities available to students, speak with Kari Shultz, Director of Student Life and Activities. Her office is located in the Student Center by KR's.
