About Student Activities

For science students in the Hickman Science Center, nursing students in Florida Hospital Hall, art majors in Brock Hall, and everyone in-between, Southern's schools and departments have professional and academic clubs that can help you get a foot in the door. Network with area professionals, meet other students on your academic track, and even get involved with organizations in the community.

If you're looking for something a little more adventurous, clubs like Kayaking, Southern Striders, and the Physical Education and Sports Studies Clubs will get you running, camping, rafting, and more. But, you don't have to join these clubs to join in the fun because the Southern Outdoor Adventure Program (SOAP) hosts a number of events throughout the year for all levels of experience.

For those wanting to celebrate their heritage, the Asian Club, Latin American Club, African Student Union, and Black Christian Union clubs are what helps to make Southern unique. Each of these clubs hosts a cultural night to showcase food, music, history, and traditions. Get involved with other students and celebrate our diversity.

Whatever activities you choose to get involved in will help make your college experience unforgettable. If you would like to add to the list of activities available to students, talk with Alexis Castro, Director of Student Life and Activities, in the Bietz Center for Student Life.
