Handshake is an online career management system that provides a number of services to Southern’s students and alumni. Handshake is a place where you make appointments with the Life Calling & Career Services counselors, where employers post jobs and internships, as well as where information about career fairs will be posted. It is a great opportunity to leverage Southern’s connections and reputation to your benefit.

Handshake Login and Getting Started

  • Visit the login page to get started – https://southern.joinhandshake.com/login 
  • Students use your Student ID Number and password to log in or use your SAU email address.
  • Handshake will take you through a few questions to connect you to the most relevant opportunities.
  • It only takes about five minutes to complete your profile. Check out these start-up videos for additional help.

Handshake Mobile

  • Handshake has an app available in the App Store and on Google Play
  • Set up notifications so you know when your favorite companies post jobs, what career events are happening on campus, and when an employer contacts you, so you never miss an opportunity or a deadline.
