Story

Lisa Diller, Ph. D., has been a professor in the department since 2002 and recently accepted the position of department Chair following the semi-retirement of former chair Dr. Dennis Pettibone. Lisa and her husband, Tommy, '94 nursing alumnus, enjoy international travel and building relationships with their neighbors in the historic community of downtown Chattanooga. Both are passionately involved in leadership activities for a downtown church, The Well.

Students appreciate Dr. Diller's enthusiasm for her profession and for life in general. The Alumni Association supports and appreciates her efforts to intentionally include elements of Southern's stories and history into her class curriculum. There is tremendous value in helping students understand the experience they enjoy at Southern Adventist University today is the result of 120 years of God's continued blessing partnered with the sacrifice and generosity of those who have continued to support the university through the years.
