At Southern Adventist University, we believe that education does not stop when you leave campus. We have been taught as students and alumni to lead lives of service and to continue lifelong learning. One of the most rewarding ways to extend your educational journey is by helping a student find their path to becoming the person God has called them to be.
The LEAP (Leadership Education through Alumni Partnerships) program involves the development of dynamic, reciprocal, and personal relationships in which a more experienced person acts as a guide to a less experienced person. Alumni mentors provide student mentees with knowledge, advice, networking opportunities, and encouragement in the development of their careers and personal lives. Mentoring is an act of “passing the mantle” – which encourages conversations between the younger and older generations about what is important.
We invite you to share your Southern experience and professional expertise with students as they transition from the university campus to becoming successful alumni engaged in communities beyond the columns.
If you are interested in becoming an alumni mentor for a student, contact Alumni Relations by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 423.236.2830. We will be happy to help find a good mentoring match for you!
