Story Abstract

Story

Bianca was so happy to leave the cold weather and come home to “sunny” Southern California for Christmas break. When she left Tennessee it was in the low 20’s and snowing. We received a notification from the airlines to expect delays or canceled flights due to severe weather conditions. After a long day of finals, traveling and worrying she arrived in California. By a lucky chance a fellow student from Southern was on the same flights so they weathered the storms together and got home safely, praise God!

Once we picked her up from the airport it started to rain. Now let me share with you that just a few days before that we had very warm weather here in Southern California – in the 80’s! So Bianca was sad to see that once she arrived it started to rain.

Rain it did! We had the worst rainy season in many years and for a straight week it rained and rained. On Wednesday, December 22, there had been so much rain we had mudslides in Loma Linda. It was so bad here we made the news on most of the major networks! Cars were stuck in mud and there was plenty of damage done to many houses around this area. Thank God though that no one was hurt, but what a BIG mess!

So much for “sunny” Southern California. It basically rained the whole Christmas break with very little sunshine in between. But that was ok she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. We didn’t let the bad weather rain on our festivities!
