Story Abstract

Story

It is very important for everyone to have a well balanced life. Especially for college students who are under a lot of stress. Keeping that balance between mental, physical, and spiritual is essential for wholeness and well being.

Being involved in a sport or regular physical activity should be a part of their daily life. For Bianca she has been involved in school sports since seventh grade in academy. Through the years she participated in flag ball, volleyball, and basketball. Volleyball was her favorite sport. Not only was the physical activity good for her, the team sports were such a blessing as well.

At Southern she joined a volleyball team. This involvement was such an outlet of stress for her. She loved playing her favorite sport and participating on a team which built great team spirit. On a regular basis she jogs on the track at the field, at the Wellness Center or on the treadmill at the dorm. This also helps her to stay focused on her studies and keep energized.

Bianca has a very cheery disposition and laughing helps to have a positive, peaceful, and hopeful attitude. At times life can become stressed and heavy with worries about the upcoming exams, the speech to deliver, getting to class and work on time, etc… So for Bianca a big stress relief is laughing with friends to ease her worries and this is also very socially stimulating.

As students get their education it is important to make daily choices and habits that will contribute to lifelong wholeness and well being. They need to embrace a balanced life that integrates mind, body, and spirit.

“May the God of peace sanctify you entirely, and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23
