It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere...on campus!
The Christmas feeling is definitely in the air here at Southern! The big tree in front of Wright Hall is up and lit, looking absolutely beautiful. All the different buildings on campus are decorated in their own way. And the best thing is that we had snow flurries today!
Unfortunately, Christmas on the Promenade that was scheduled for this past Tuesday got cancelled because of the weather. I was pretty sad since this was going to be my first time at this exciting event. However, the open house at Thatcher Hall and Thatcher South put everyone into the Christmas spirit. Students were roaming the halls, visiting the different rooms that were opened to display to everyone their beautiful Chrismas decorations. Some rooms offered treats as well! It was a wonderful time socializing, drinking hot chocolate and eating cookies, and seeing the Christmas decorations.
With all this Christmas cheer in the air, it makes me want to go home right now for the holidays! Unfortunately, I still have 1 1/2 weeks plus several different finals to get through. When I really think about what's coming it starts to stress me out a lot. Then I remember that during these finals that are coming up, I need to just sit back, relax, and turn it all over to God. He alone can give me the strength to make it through this stressful time. I guess the hardest part with that is just turning those words into actions. I need to be reminded daily to turn everything over to Him, to trust Him and let Him take control.
So as I continue to make it through these final days with God's help, I hope and pray that you also have a happy, peaceful, stress-free Christmas this year. I know that with God you sure can. :)
