Testing Services

Testing Services administers university-related test programs; coordinates the administration of national entrance exams; and offers students the opportunity to take advantage of assessment for personal, educational, and career planning.

ACT Residual Testing

Southern Adventist University is an on-campus ACT assessment center for enrolled, admitted, or applicant students who are unable to test on a national test date. Results from residual testing are reported only to Southern and cannot be transferred to any other institution or agency. The ACT is composed of tests in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Reasoning. For information on upcoming ACT test dates, registration procedures, and study preparation, select ACT on the left menu bar.

National Entrance & Certification Tests

Southern Adventist University is an established non-Saturday National Test Center for the administration of entrance examinations for students applying to graduate and professional schools. Applications for tests such as the GRE subject exam, LSAT, and PRAXIS can be obtained at Counseling & Testing Services.  For information on upcoming test dates, select National Test Programs on the left menu bar.

Career & Individual Self-Exploration

Assessment tools are available to help enrolled students examine interests, aptitudes, skills, values, and personality traits related to personal and career development.

CLEP

Let the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) help you forge ahead on your path to a college degree. You can receive credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on 17 CLEP examinations. Credit earned through CLEP will be posted to the student's record after the student has successfully completed a minimum of 12 semester hours in residence at Southern.

SAT

The SAT is a globally recognized college admission test that lets you show colleges what you know and how well you can apply that knowledge. It tests your knowledge of reading, writing and math — subjects that are taught every day in high school classrooms. The SAT Subject Tests offer you an additional opportunity to show colleges what you know and what you know you can do.

The SAT is administered on non-Saturday scheduled national test dates by Testing Services. Registration materials can be obtained from your local high school counselor's office.  For information on upcoming SAT test dates, select National Test Programs on the left menu bar.
