The School of Education and Psychology is proud to offer a new early childhood program coming in the fall of 2011, followed by online courses in 2012. The new associate's degree will include coursework in child nurturing, safety, health, and development, and will focus on preparing educators with the professional skills and experience necessary to to begin teaching young children. Diversity and Special Needs
The new program will use developmentally and culturally appropriate practices (DCAP) throughout the courses to ensure that students are prepared for the diverse field of teaching. The program encourages putting knowledge to practice through immersive field experience.
More Than Simply Teachers
Students in the new program will appreciate the breadth of knowledge and experience gained in classes focusing on administration, development assessment, and safety, going beyond simply teaching.
