Certifications for Outdoor Leadership Students

Courses leading to nationally recognized certifications provide students with professional development opportunities, while our basic core classes, such as Adventure Leadership, Challenge Course Facilitation, Emergency Medical Technician, Wilderness First Responder, Environmental Education, and Outdoor Ministries, train them in the methodology, philosophy, and practice of outdoor leadership. At the end of their four years, students will leave with an extensive portfolio of experience and certifications, making their skill set highly desirable in the outdoor field. Some of our courses are:

 Instructional Courses

  • Canoeing (American Canoe Association certification)
  • Challenge Course Facilitator (ropes course facilitator certification)
  • Environmental Education
  • Horsemanship Classes (basic through advanced levels, training, equine therapy, Certified Horsemanship Association instructor certification)
  • Rock Climbing Classes: basic, advanced (American Mountain Guides Association certification)
  • Scuba (open water and dive master certification)
  • White Water Rafting Guide Certification

Rescue Courses

  • Rope Technician I and II (National Fire Protection Association rope technician certification)
  • Advanced Swift Water Rescue (American Canoe Association Swift Water Rescue and Advanced Swift Water Rescue certifications)
  • Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician Certification
  • Wilderness First Responder (Wilderness Medicine Institute Certification)
