Co-directors

Yosef GarfinkelYosef Garfinkel (Ph.D., The Hebrew University of Jerusalem) is Yigael Yadin Professor of Biblical Archaeology at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has directed excavations at Shaar-Hagolan, Tel Tzaf, and Khirbet Qeiyafa. He has published over 20 books on the archaeology of Israel and has exhibited the results of his excavations at the Louvre and Metropolitan Museum of Art. Since 2013, he is Co-Director of The Fourth Expedition to Lachish.

Michael G. HaselMichael G. Hasel (Ph.D., University of Arizona) is Director of the Institute of Archaeology and Professor of Near Eastern Studies and Archaeology at Southern Adventist University. He has participated in and directed excavations in Jordan (Jalul), Cyprus (Idalion), and Israel (Ashkelon, Dor, Gezer, Ekron, Hazor, Masada, Khirbet Qeiyafa). He specializes in military tactics of Egypt and the ANE and has published several books. Since 2013, he is Co-Director of The Fourth Expedition to Lachish.

Martin G. KlingbeilMartin G. Klingbeil (D.Litt., Stellenbosch University) is Associate Director of the Institute of Archaeology and Professor of Biblical Studies and Archaeology at Southern Adventist University. He has participated in excavations in Jordan (Umeiri) and Israel (Khirbet Qeiyafa, Lachish). He specializes in ancient seals and iconography and has published extensively in that field. Since 2013, he is Co-Director of The Fourth Expedition to Lachish.

Scot AndersonScot Anderson (Ph.D., University of Nebraska) is Professor of Computing, School of Computing, Southern Adventist University and serves as the CIRC Database developer. He has participated in excavations at Khirbet Qeiyafa.

Michael DantMichael Dant (MS, Andrews University) is Associate Professor of Computing, School of Computing, Southern Adventist University and served as IT manager and quadcopter pilot/trainer. He has participated in excavations at Khirbet Qeiyafa and Lachish.

Christopher DantChristopher Dant (MS cand., Southern Adventist University) served as IT manager and quadcopter pilot.

Thomas OlsenThomas Olsen (MS cand., Southern Adventist University) served as IT associate manager and CIRC database manager. He has participated in excavations at Khirbet Qeiyafa and Lachish.

Shimon Gasanov has participated in various archaeological projects throughout Israel. He served as archaeological surveyor.

Daniel PerezDaniel M. Perez (MA, Northern Arizona University) is Museum Coordinator of the Lynn H. Wood Archaeological Museum, Southern Adventist University. He has participated in excavations in the United States, Uzbekistan, and Israel. He serves as archaeological surveyor, field archaeologist, and secondary quadcopter pilot.

Jesse RademacherJesse Rademacher (MFA, Savannah College of Art and Design) is associate professor in the School of Visual Art and Design at Southern Adventist University. He served as digital illustrator and draftsman.

Sarahi RemolinaSarahi Remolina (BFA cand., Southern Adventist University) has prior experience in traditional and digital illustration in various capacities.  She served as digital illustrator and draftswoman.

J. RosenbergJay Rosenberg serves as archaeological surveyor. He has participated as an archaeological surveyor for numerous excavations in Israel.

Anat MendelAnat Mendel (Ph.D. cand., The Hebrew University of Jerusalem) is a lecturer in north-west Semitic epigraphy and an assistant curator at the Collections of the Hebrew University. She served as the wet sifting project manager.

Nestor PetrukNestor Petruk (Ph.D. cand., University of Barcelona) serves as square supervisor and epigraphist. He has participated in excavations in Jordan and Israel.

Ed MaherEd Maher (Ph.D., University of Illinois at Chicago) is a lecturer in archaeology at North Central College specializes in anthropological theory and zooarchaeology.
