Learning Support Services (LSS) is always looking for tutors who are passionate about helping other students learn. To become a tutor at LSS, students are required to have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and have a letter grade of at least a B+ in the classes the students will be tutoring. Once hired, tutors will need to maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 to continue working at LSS.
With very few exceptions, students also need to have taken the classes they will be tutoring at Southern Adventist University, not another institution.
When applying for a tutoring position at LSS, students will need to:
1. Fill out a tutor application.
2. Obtain an unofficial transcript from the Records office.
3. Submit the application and transcript to the LSS Office Manager. An interview with the Director will then be scheduled.
