Southern’s program offers opportunities for students who are serious about a career that promotes the total well-being of others.

The Physical Education degree fosters enthusiasm, knowledge, and skills in many recreational activities, enabling students to become the best possible teachers.

The Health Science degree is an appropriate track for pre-med, pre-dental, pre-physical therapy, or other pre-professional careers. Graduates are ready to pursue advanced or professional degrees as well as medical careers.

Health and Wellness majors are prepared for graduate school and provides opportunities for helping people create an active, balanced, healthy lifestyle.

The School of Health and Kinesiology is a member of the American Kinesiology Association.

Outdoor Leadership majors develop competencies and skills to serve as camp managers, first responders, park rangers, and more.

The Vegetarian Culinary Arts kitchen is 3,000 square feet with space dedicated exclusively for labs and classes.

Gym-Masters, an anti-drug acrobatics team, gives students that are gifted in gymnastics an opportunity to develop their skills and promote positive lifestyle choices. Gym-Masters practice in their own facility on campus.

Intramurals

Intramural sports include basketball, flag football, floor hockey, futsal, softball, and volleyball. Health and Kinesiology students often serve as referees in addition to playing.

Kayak Club

The purpose of the Southern Adventist University Kayak Club to promote the sport of kayaking to beginner, novice, and experienced kayakers, to provide knowledge and skill necessary for safe and successful kayaking, to encourage an appreciation for the responsible use of our rivers and waterways and to provide recreational activities in a Christian social environment.

Southern Striders running club strives to provide opportunities for students to compete and have fun while portraying a Christian example for others outside of the club and to put God first and foremost in every run.
