University Physics, the new calculus-based physics course for science majors, begins this year with an enrollment of 17 students. Physics, engineering, as well as certain chemistry and computer science majors are required to take the course. It replaces the General Physics + Calculus Applications sequence previously required. General Physics remains as an algebra-based introductory course primarily geared for students entering medical-related professions. Dr. Caviness is guiding the course on its maiden voyage.
