Summer SALT 1-Week Intensive

 

Coming Summer June 22-29, 2014!

Designed for busy people looking for intense evangelism training in a short period of time, Summer SALT pulls crucial excerpts from our full semester program to cover the basics of personal and public evangelism, the evangelism cycle, and tools for outreach in your local church and community. 

 

Topics Will Include:

- The Evangelism Cycle

- Friendship Evangelism

- Creating and Giving Bible Studies

- Awakening Spiritual Interest

- Answering Objections and Gaining Decisions

- Health Evangelism

- Public Evangelism

- How to Start Contagious Evangelism in Your Home Church!

 

Presenters will include SALT staff, SAU religion professors, It Is Written staff, and more!

 

Location: Hackman Hall, Southern Adventist University, 4881 Taylor Circle, Collegedale, TN 37315 (Directions)

 

Registration: June 22, 3:00-5:00 p.m. (followed by the opening session from 6:30-8:00 p.m.)

 

Tentative Daily Schedule (subject to adjustments): Classes will meet all day (8:45-4:30) Mon-Thurs, and 8:45-12:15 on Friday. Wednesday afternoon/evening a special outreach event is planned. On Friday evening and Sabbath we will be with a local church worshipping and helping with a special evangelistic event. The program's closing session will be on Sunday from 9:15-12:00.

*Note: Sorry, we cannot provide childcare at this time. Children must be at least 12 years of age to participate in class sessions. 

 

Food:

Participants may choose their own food options. Several eateries are available on campus including the SAU Dining Hall and Village Market. Campus eateries accept cash and major credit cards and have vegetarian and vegan options. There are also kitchens in the dormitory available (must bring own pots, pans, dishes etc.) for those who choose to bring/prepare their own food.


An average meal in the Dining Hall costs about $7.50. This price is based 
on 1 entree, 1 vegetable, small salad, dessert and drink. Free lunch will be provided on Sabbath.

Dormitory Rooms: 7 nights

  • $128: Shared room (no linens): Shared with one other person (separate twin beds), bath shared with adjoining room
  • $164: Shared room (with bed and bath linens): Shared with one other person (separate twin beds), bath shared with adjoining room
  • $255: Private room/couple (no linens): 1 room, 2 twin beds, bath shared with adjoining room
  • $328: Private room/couple (with bed and bath linens): 1 room, 2 twin beds, bath shared with adjoining room
  • $510: Family/Suite: 2 rooms, 4 twin beds, with shared bath between rooms (includes bed and bath linens)

Apartments in Southern Village (walking distance to campus, 2 twin beds per bedroom (with linens), laundry, living/dining area, unstocked kitchen. 7 nights. Limited availability – if not available, refunds will be offered.
