Training will be available on how to hang and take down gallery shows and this will include calking and painting walls. This position also requires someone who is able to walk around campus, to post promotional posters for gallery openings. Assistant for Deployed Student Missionaries

Location/Department: Bietz Student Center/ Office of Ministry and Missions/Suite 2000 

Description/Duties: * Be flexible

* Connect with Student Missionaries in the field as often as possible

* Responsible for getting one envelope and one package per semester out to SMs in the field (incl. contents, boxes, postage, customs forms)

* Responsible for two to four packing parties

* Maintain a prayer list for SMs

* Check the social media profiles of student missionaries regularly to collect media and report any concerns to the SM Director

* Email a list of people who need follow-up to the SM Director whenever it’s necessary

* Read the blogs of student missionaries, report concerns to SM Director & save significant ones for promotion

* Create & manage Google sheet with deployed SMs information (addresses, contact, social media - Use 2024-2025 Punchlist)

* Collect and grade NOND-227, 228 and 050 assignments and report updates on students’ academic and emotional status to the SM Director

* Respond to students’ assignments and submissions where necessary

* Update and manage e-Class

* Stay in regular contact with deployed SMs on a monthly basis via Skype, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Snapchat, or email, etc. – they need to know your job is to take care of them

* Create and update student missionaries social media groups to engage students with each other

* Keep main office neat and clean (maintain a business-style environment)

* Facilitate Re-Entry interviews if desired

* Support the Student Missions team wherever needed during retreats, vespers, mission emphasis week etc.

Qualifications: Must have served as a student missionary, taskforce, or have lived abroad (non-native country).

Hours: 12 hours/week

Pay Rate: Freshman: $7.25 - Sophomore $7.75 - Junior $8.00 - Senior $8.25

Student Missions

Assistant for Returned Student Missionaries

Location/Department: Bietz Center for Student Life, Office of Ministry and Missions, Suite 2200 

Description/Duties: * Be flexible

* Manage all requests for SMs to come and speak at events (dorm worships, churches, classes etc.)

* Responsible for the Student Missions Club, including community service events

* Responsible for Student Missions Lifegroup

* Help our office to be more missional within our own community

* Organize the logistics for Re-Entry Retreat

* Identify and enhance events (packing parties, Christmas party, service projects, etc.) for returned SMs to participate in and develop lasting community with other returned SMs

* Connect the SAU campus to Student Missions, and vice versa

* Seek out and promote (to returned SMs) compelling opportunities for returned SMs to consider as long-term options for going back to the mission field

* Consider starting adoption program for faculty/staff/students to communicate with SMs

* Facilitate a positive and engaging relationship between the student missionaries and the deployed SMs

* Connect potential SMs with returned SMs for location information

Qualifications: Must have served as a student missionary or taskforce worker. Theology, or religion major is a plus.

Description/Duties: Upload assignments and other class materials to eClass
Assist the professor and students as needed
