Anticipation Builds For Alumni Homecoming Weekend (October 28-31, 2010)
by Evonne Crook and Daniel WahlenEvery year Homecoming Weekend at Southern is an event that brings back nostalgia and
happiness, but more importantly it is an opportunity to be brought back up to date
with your alma mater. The theme for the weekend is "Pillars of Progress." This year coincides with several important events that clearly mark progress for the
university. The beautiful new Florida Hospital Hall will be opening this school year,
providing a larger home for the ever growing School of Nursing. Also, it is the 40th
Anniversary of the McKee Library and the 60th Anniversary of the SMC accreditation.
There are many exciting activities planned and all graduates are invited and encouraged to attend, whether or not you are an
honor class member this year. For a list of honor class years and schedule of events: Learn more→

Thank you to those who participated in the 2010 Dave Cress Memorial Golf Tournament.
With your help, we raised approximately $10,000 which will be added to the Dave Cress
Memorial Endowed Scholarship. The theme at the tournament was, "It Is All About the Students," and we cannot thank
enough those who played and sponsored for their support.
If you were unable to play this year, we hope you will be able to join us next year.
