Scholarships and Endowments
Scholarships help make an education at Southern possible for students who cannot afford
it on their own. The individuals and families who have established scholarships have
made a difference for thousands of young people over the years. As of 2014 there are
215 scholarships and endowments in existence on campus. Some focus on areas of study
while others focus on financial needs.
Donors may contribute to Southern through gifts that are invested. The earnings are distributed through scholarships to students (or other specified criteria) while the principal amount remains intact. This allows a one-time gift that can have an impact for generations to come. Donors may establish a scholarship or endowment fund using their name or the name of someone they wish to honor.
