MOOCs, badges, crowd sourcing, lecture capture, flipped classrooms, geo-learning, and maker spaces: these represent just a few of the terms you may have read about or engaged in discussion with other faculty about recently. Many faculty feel a need to increase awareness of and experiment with new technologies. Couple that with the need to reduce costs in higher education and the demands of our increasingly interconnected world can feel overwhelming, especially for faculty that are already stretched in so many ways.
Southern Online Campus exists to support you in navigating through the sea of emerging
digital resources. We have chosen the rowing metaphor to represent a synchronous effort
between our team and educators to move forward and accomplish a common goal.
Support is aimed at both selecting and integrating technologies that will enhance
the learning experience. Our team works with professors to identify best practices
for the use of existing and emerging technologies that will positively impact teaching
and learning.
