Southern appreciates the many generous givers who donate their time and financial resources towards fulfilling Southern’s mission. All gifts to Southern are tax-deductible and help Southern fulfill its mission. We also have several ways to recognize those who give through a variety of special giving societies.
The President’s Circle is a growing group of supporters and advisers for Southern Adventist University. They share a vision for the institution and acknowledge the source for all true education mentioned in Colossians 2:3: “In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Alumni and friends who demonstrate their commitment to Southern students through leadership gifts above $1,000 are recognized with the university's President’s Circle distinction.
Participants are honored for their annual commitment in publications and at homecoming weekend, and they are invited guests of the president at unique social functions.
President’s Circle members connect with like-minded thinkers, visionaries, philanthropists, enthusiastic ambassadors, and devoted representatives of Southern Adventist University. Their commitment makes a significant difference in the lives of our students.
The Loyalty Circle
Members of the class of 2006 made their first contributions to Southern Adventist University and established the Passing the Mantle Society which was later renamed the Loyalty Circle. Their class gift challenges all alumni and friends to make a lifetime commitment of annual support in passing a Christian education at Southern to the next generation. Southern alumni and friends making an annual gift for three consecutive years or more are recognized as members of the Loyalty Circle in Southern's Annual Report.
The Legacy Society
The Legacy Society has been established to recognize those who indicate support to Southern through their estate plans or a planned gift. Because their example may encourage others, many have graciously allowed their names to be included on the Legacy Society recognition wall located in Wright Hall. We also include their names in our annual report.
Annual supporters are the pillars Southern leans on to further its mission. Every year, students receive scholarships, academic departments acquire new resources, and mission trips are made possible because of annual gifts.
