NOND 101: Southern Connections, 1 Credit Hour

This class is designed to give first-year students the opportunity to discuss and
research topics of interest in a core subject area. Emphasis will be placed on the
development of critical and creative thinking skills within the context of the student's
chosen area of study. We also offer sections for undecided students, which help them
work toward discovering a major while adapting to college life.

Seminar participation will facilitate social adaptation to the university environment
and connections with professors within the student’s major.
This credit is part of the General Education requirement. It must be taken during the student’s first semester on campus.
