Wat Phra Yai

Wat Phra Yai is also known as the Big Buddha Temple, depicted in the Mara posture, which means enlightenment. This temple is on its own island, accessed by a strip from Koh Samui. Shoes were to be removed as a sign of respect to the holy site before walking up the 100 or so stairs.
