Coastal Witch-alder (Fothergilla gardenii) is a compact, slow-growing deciduous shrub (2–6 ft. tall) prized for its 3-season interest, including fragrant white bottlebrush flowers in early spring. Native to the Southeast US, it features leathery, blue-green leaves that turn brilliant yellow, orange, and red in fall.
